The latest and the newest browser from Microsoft which is Edge and it was introduced in the Windows 10 platform. The earlier version of Edge did not supported the push notifications, with the release of Windows Insider Preview project (build 14.14342) notifications were supported in Edge. This feature by default is enabled in Windows 10 PC and tablets that are updated with the latest release of Windows 10 Update with Edge HTML 14 also known as the Anniversary Update or Version 1703.
As usual the implementation follows the W3C standards for modern browsers and Edge is no exception. A sample image of push notification from web.skype.com form the official blog of Windows 10 titled Web Notifications in Microsoft Edge is taken (https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2016/05/16/web-notifications-microsoft-edge/) and shown below –
For testing the feature in your Edge browser, you can click here and follow the instructions below  -(https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/dev-guide/device/web-notifications-api) and clicking on the send a notification button in the code pen window, it will pop up an alert box. Click on the Yes button and you would receive two notifications of skype via the code pen test push which would look like the image displayed below.
It recommends a strong adherence to some rules and specifically to putting an icon in the notifications, so as to inform the user about the origin of the message or where it is coming from there are many other specification which can be read on that page.
Abby Carey the author of the post has mentioned all the documentations relevant for implementing this feature and they are under the following headings.

- Notification events
- Notification methods
- Notification permissions
- API reference
The drought of push notifictaion has ended and it ended with a very cool feature in displaying notification in the action center. All credits to the developer community of the Microsoft. Now websites can engage effectively with their users on Edge as well.
